As with all Souverän models, the rollerball pen (with closed cap) of the R 600 is identical to the M 600 fountain pen.

With its weight without cap of 17.5 g (including the ink refill), it also corresponds in weight terms to a filled fountain pen of the same series. The fittings are either gold-plated or silver-plated. The cap has a screw cap. The rollerball pen has replaceable ink refills.

The Pelikan R 600 Rollerball is a lightweight rollerball for small to medium hand sizes. The shaft is made of precious resin, combined with the cellulose acetate specially developed for Pelikan.
