Montblanc x Fritz Schimpf Special Edition Italic Delight fountain pen

In celebration of our 145th anniversary, we are delighted to offer an exclusive fountain pen, the Montblanc x Fritz Schimpf Special Edition Italic Delight.  

The pen is a version of the iconic Montblanc Meisterstück 149 with an elegant red gold finish. It’s fitted with a superb italic nib which accentuates the unique character of each
individual’s unique handwriting. Italic Delight is designed for prolific writers, fast writers, handwriting enthusiasts,
and all those who savor finely wrought handwriting.

Italic Delight – Created to Write

The specially designed italic nib was based on our original concept brought to life through a creative exchange with Montblanc’s experienced nib masters, who crafted it with utmost precision and artistry.

As a result, the 18-carat bi-colour gold nib of the Montblanc x Fritz Schimpf Special Edition Italic Delight fountain pen offers an exceptional writing experience of the rarest quality.

With a vertical line width of approximately 0.65 mm and a horizontal stroke thickness of around 0.25 mm (as measured on Fritz Schimpf Feinpost fine writing paper), the nib is a medium in terms
of stroke width. As each writer has their own characteristic line variation, the pen’s script has exceptional vitality, becoming more expressive and distinctive.

Thanks to the ideally crafted nib grind, the comfort zone is pleasantly wide, allowing for a relatively generous degree of rotation while writing – something seldom found in italic nibs. This is
further complemented by a carefully calibrated ink flow which consistently supplies adequate ink.
The resulting smooth, resistance-free glide of the nib invites a user to freely write, to play with their handwriting, and to comfortably explore the nib’s expressive potential.

The nib of the Montblanc x Fritz Schimpf Special Edition Italic Delight fountain pen may also be used in reverse, i.e. turned 180° and written with the nib upside down. In the reverse orientation,
the stroke width is approximately 0.22 mm, making it ideal for writing small text annotations or calendar entries without needing to switch writing instruments.

Our Montblanc x Fritz Schimpf Special Edition Italic Delight fountain pens are hallmarked by fine laser engravings on each nib shoulder: “Italic Delight” on the left and “Fritz Schimpf” on the right.
